Math
We have been learning skip counting. Today we tackled skip counting by two's. Students learned that there is a pattern when counting by 2's. The ones place have a repeating pattern while the tens place increases by one each time through the pattern.
See if your child can tell you about the pattern and demonstrate counting this way.

Pumpkin Art
This week we reflected on our pumpkin/squash art that we completed last week. Students chose their favourite art piece and explained why it was their favourite, how they created it, and described what it looks like. We also typed our reflection to be displayed on our classroom bulletin board.

Computers
We are learning typing skills in our class. This helps us to get oriented with the keyboard and makes us more computer savvy.

Halloween

Tomorrow is an exciting day in our class, school and community. We will be celebrating Halloween tomorrow afternoon. Students are invited to bring in a carved pumpkin to enter into our Pumpkinella celebration.
Some reminders for costumes:
- no violent, or gruesome costumes please (this includes weapons)
- masks are discouraged, but if you choose to bring one students need to be able to see out of it
- please do not wear your costume to school. Instead, bring it in your backpack or extra bag and students will change into their costumes after lunch.
