End of Year
It is hard to believe we are in the last week of Grade 3... or last three days.
There are a few housekeeping things to go over to ensure every student gets all of there belongings back home.
Things to remember:
- Please bring back home reading books if you still have them at home
- please bring a couple of shopping bags on Tuesday or Wednesday so that students can pack up all of there workbooks and school gear and bring it home
- We will be going by the lost and found tomorrow. If you know of something students have lost at school please remind them to look for that item
- Wednesday is the last day of classes and it is a half day. Dismissal is at 12:00 noon.
At the end of the year I usually get my students a small departing gift. With our year highlighting the ripple effect I thought it would be fitting instead to make a donation to the Mustard Seed. I will be donating $100 to the Mustard Seed on our students behalf.
Thanks for a great year, your children are great!
See you when you are all in Grade 4!

Science/Literacy:
Students are hard working a book. They started by researching an animal from one of the countries we have studied this year (India, Peru, Ukraine, Tunisia or Canada). We are following a storyline inspired by the "Diary" stories from the mind of Doreen Cronin. Through humorous daily entries students are sharing information about their animal including: habitat, diet, life cycle, adaptations, predators and prey. We have also been learning about several animals' life cycles: Today we looked at an amphibian: the frog.
Physical Education:
We are getting our heartbeat up grooving to dance music during our Drumfit unit.
Important Information:
- Thursday June 20: Fun Lunch
- Friday June 21: Indigenous Games Day 10:30am to 11:30am
- Wednesday June 26 – Year End Assembly
Early Dismissal: 12pm

Baby Straiton
Hello students and parents,
I have been on parental leave the last 8 days for the arrival of our new baby girl.
Sydney Marie Straiton was born on Friday May 31 at 9:20am. She weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Both Sydney and mom are happy and healthy. Callum is a wonderful and caring big brother to Sydney.
