Money Mentors
We had a presentation by Chrystal from Money Mentors on Tuesday. She discussed the difference between our needs and our wants. The difference between goods and services and gave us tips about saving.
Students wrote their own lists of needs vs wants in their journal. Ask them about what the difference is between needs and wants.

Gymnastics

We are continuing with gymnastics. Share and show three types of movements and balances you've tried during gymnastics.

Maker Space

Mrs. Jordan gave us a tutorial for our Maker Space lab. Students had some time afterwards to cooperate, problem solve, create, build and learn through play. If you are not sure what Maker Space is ask your child to explain it.

Most Magnificent Thing

Students have built their most magnificent things. Students have done some self reflection on their own project to determine what worked well, what was challenging and how they made their "MMT".

On Thursday the class came up with their own criteria for what is needed to make a good presentation. As a class we came up with a rubric to assess each persons presentation. 

On Friday we started presentations. We will continue presenting next week.

Cup Stack Challenge

Today we split into teams and were challenged to stack 4 cups. Students were given an elastic with four strings attached. They could only touch the end of the string and figure out as a team how to stack the cups. Here is what they had to say:

“It was fun because we were doing a cup contest and we were working as a team. We were laughing and having fun." - Gabriel

“ A challenging part was when one of them (the cups fell down it was really hard to get back up.”- Cassie

" What didn't work? When we put the cups in the corner. We couldn’t lift them up cause to close to the clothes and the shoes." -Ferdows

"I liked when we tried to flip the cups. IF something went wrong we had fun." -Ethan

"It was challenging trying to lift it up and Ethan broke one of the strings (by accident) and it was harder to lift up only when it does the triangle." - Victoria
