Parent letter and forms went home yesterday. Please look over the forms, complete them, and return them to school as soon as possible.
There are still opportunities to volunteer. We have space each day for parents to volunteer. You must have a valid police clearance. If you wish to volunteer for a day please email contact Mr. Straiton.
Seed School will run from February 4 to 8.
Coding: Microbits
On Wednesday afternoon, Kim from KidCodeJeunesse taught us how to code using microbits. Students can do this at home using the emulator. If you want to see what your child can do have them show you by going to the following link kidscodejeunesse.org
Science: Rocks and Minerals
As a class we came up with three research questions: What are rocks made of? How are rocks formed? and What are the different kinds/types of rocks?
Students then took to the internet to look up these questions.
On Wednesday morning our class has an in-school field trip to the Royal Tyrrell Museum through a distance school program called "Rockin' Alberta." Ask your child about the three sciences we learned about, as well as, what the three types of rocks are called.
S.T.E.A.M.
We had a team building S.T.E.A.M. challenge called the "peek-a-boo challenge." Ask your child about the peek-a-boo challenge.
