Art:
We created a skyline of the city of Calgary to compliment our time spent down town during Seed School. Students used a variety of techniques to create their skylines, including: oil pastels, shading, painting with water colour, and mirroring (reflections). The process took several bloks of time over several days.
Science:
Last week we explored the properties of various rocks and minerals through several experiments. Ask your child what kind of tests they did.
Math/Health:
We are in the middle of a math project focused on a healthy diets meals. In partners students created a meal. Made a list of ingredients needed to make the meal, and then went online to shop for these ingredients to find out the total cost of their meal.
At the Mustard Seed we learned that it costs $3.51 to provide a hot meal for someone in need. We are in the process of finding out how many meals our meal could provide at the Mustard Seed.
Recess Fun:
We have had a few indoor recesses over the last couple of weeks. Here is a glimpse of what we get up to when the weather is freezing.
