May 2

Welcome to May. Hopefully this will actually bring us some sustained warmer weather.

Here is what we have been up to in class.

Math:
Multiplication Strategies: Arrays.
Arrays are ordered groups (lines) in which to organize an equation. We have been learning about some of the arrays we might see on a building, in the grocery store or even in our home.

Here is a game you can play with your child to learn about arrays.

Social Studies: Peru, Tunisia, Ukraine and India

Students are busy putting the finishing touches on their posters and pamphlets. Together we decided on how we can assess our project using a rubric. We will be sharing these projects with the class starting next week.

Important Information:

Community Walk:
On the morning of Tuesday, May 7th our class is going to go on a community walk. IT will be similar to the community walk we all went on in the fall. We will need 2-3 (or more) parents who would be willing to be a volunteer chaperones. Details will be emailed out next week. If you are available to volunteer please email me at your earliest convenience. (rwstraiton@cbe.ab.ca)
